S|365’s Sister Company Wins Prestigious Award for Kitchen Design

Celebrations abound! Please join us in congratulating our sister company Housewarming in winning the Trade Rex award in Kitchen Excellence from Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties. Housewarming oversees our residential interior design and styling projects, and supports S|365 community residents with services to help furnish their new homes. The award-winning design, led by Senior Designer Amanda Kratochvil and implemented by Better Builder’s, fully transformed a North Seattle 1920s kitchen into a functional and easily accessible space, while honoring the home’s beautiful architectural integrity.

Design was delivered in March 2020, with implementation completed July-December 2020, all while working around the pandemic and subsequent delays. The kitchen is now open to the dining room, which required removal of the chimney and a hallway closet, dramatically improving flow and access. To maintain a seamless integration of old with new, the design matched all the original trim and wainscoting throughout to stunning effect. The results speak for themselves!

“Working on this project was so fulfilling,” said Kratochvil. “Not only did we have a great team, but we had great clients as well. Working alongside Better Builders to create a modernized kitchen while still maintaining the incredibly beautiful history of this home was a wonderful new experience. To date this is one of my favorite projects, and I am so honored that it has won this award.”
